Coughs, colds and flu starts from last week's UKHSA figure and adjusts it for last week's change and this week's searches. Sickness bugs combines its inputs with fixed weights. Both methods are set out on the methods page. When an input is missing the page says so.
Sithi household survey
The index will be strongest once enough households take part. The Sithi household survey takes under two minutes a week. It asks only about symptoms in your household, by age group, and your postcode area. Adults only.

It is independent work by Sithi and is not produced or endorsed by the NHS or UKHSA. A high reading says nothing about any one person's health.
